7 - 9 October 2009 r. Ustroń, JASKÓŁKA Hotel
 |
Land surface is presently considered as a non-renewable resource
and as such requires implementation of new technical, technological,
legal, organizational and financial solutions. For many regions of
Europe, particularly Central European cities, land degradation is an
issue which affects their attractiveness and competitiveness.
Revitalization of degraded areas may contribute to the economic
growth of these regions and to the development of a proper approach
to environmental and social issues.
The main objective of our conferences, which have been organized
since 2007, is to present the achievements and outputs of research
projects as well as the existing practical, technical and
organizational solutions supporting economic and natural
revitalization of degraded areas. This year the conference will aim
at providing multi-level integration of different stakeholders and
institutions, for which promotion of sustainable development of
post-industrial areas is a priority issue.
In 2009 the main problems addressed during the conference will be:
occurrence of hazardous substances in degraded areas and
self-purification of the soil-water environment.
Using examples of Polish and foreign sites methods for management of
degraded areas will be presented, i.e.: remediation technologies,
organizational solutions, financing options and restructurization of
industrial facilities.
The conference program includes 6 sessions and a Panel Discussion of
experts.
